About This Plant
Part or full shade; evergreen, with dark green lily- or grass-like spreading foliage. Various sizes and cultivars are available. Liriope is a stalwart in the irrigated shade garden, making a nice low-maintenance filler texture in formal landscapes. It’s especially useful around live oaks, where it is too dark for grass. The flowers are inconspicuous.
Maintenance
None typically required. Can be cut back as needed, but it’s better to pick-prune as ragged leaf edges can be unsightly for a long time.
