About This Plant
Sun. An herbaceous perennial with grayish compound leaves spiralling around the stem. Flowers appear in late summer and autumn with five bright yellow crinkly petals. Found in dry, rocky limestone soils or sands; effective as a specimen or massed in the background of any wildflower garden. Reseeds freely; gather seeds in fall after it begins to dry and brown. Larval host for sulphur and orange butterflies.
