About This Plant
Sun/part shade. An outstanding fine-textured bunchgrass with ornamental seed plumes and silvery-grey foliage. Very hardy on limestone outcrops, in its native range, it is most often found near streams and drainages. Use it as a specimen or a screen in the home landscape.
Maintenance
No care required. It can be cropped or crew-cut early spring to clear out spent brown leaves (see photo) but it can be slow to recover. A far less obtrusive method of tidying it up: just break off the dead leaves by hand and comb through it with a rake.
