Monarch Butterfly Fest takes flight Oct. 5!

Charmed by monarch butterflies, bees and other pollinators? Don’t miss the celebration that’s all about them!

Monarch butterflies may have the “rizz,” but pollinators like bees, hummingbirds and bats have their own charm as you’ll discover at this Saturday’s Monarch Butterfly & Pollinator Festival.

Buzz on over to Brackenridge Park on Oct. 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for this free event celebrating the monarch migration and the importance of pollinators in our lives.

Ready to pull in pollinators? Stop by the SAWS Conservation table to learn about pollinator-friendly, drought-tolerant landscaping, our coupon and rebate programs, and pick up a wildflower seed packet, while supplies last.

Let’s all pause to appreciate that pollinators not only help 75 percent of flowering plants reproduce, but they also help make one of three bites of our food possible.

Thank you, midges, for the chocolate! Bees, I salute you for the avocadoes and apples, not to mention the fruit of the season — pumpkins!

‘Bee’ mindful of the positive impact you can have at home. Plant your own pollinator garden with help from our $100 Landscape Coupon — apply by Oct. 15 — and download our hummingbird garden design or one of our Plant-by-Number designs with plant picks to support our wild friends.
