Not recommended. Nandina has spread aggressively into natural areas throughout the southeastern U.S., including central Texas and Bexar County. The roots are tough and difficult to eradicate once established. New dwarf varieties are sterile, without the berries spread by birds.

Nandina is everywhere, but it's not recommended as it is spreading and invading the Texas Hill Country.
