About This Plant

Sun; nearly evergreen in warm winters, with scale-like leaves and a fragrance resembling camphor. It is mostly grown for its foliage, although does provide yellow flowers in summer. Santolina was once a standard in medieval knot gardens. In Texas landscapes it’s a good fit in a deer-proof border among small sages and rosemary.

Maintenance

Plant in well-drained soil. Needs little more than occasional water and light shaping. Avoid over-watering.

Lavender cotton is nearly evergreen and fairly deer-proof.
