The holiday season is nearly upon us and that means it’s time to get crafty! Here’s a simple project you can make to dress up your door and welcome weary travelers.

I recently made a wreath made out of clothespins and seashells for my vacation home and it turned out so well that I decided to make one for my primary residence in a fall motif.
Items needed
- Wooden clothespins (find at your local grocery or dollar store). For my wreath, I used 74 clothespins.
- Wire wreath (I chose a 12-inch one)
- Spray paint
- Any other decorations of your choosing. For this one, I used pine cones collected during summer vacation to South Dakota (so there is a little sentimental value to it as well) along with some glitter acorns I purchased at the craft store.
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
I’m using spray paints in fall colors. You’ll need to decide how many different colors you want to use and then determine how many of the clothespins you want in each color. To paint the clothespins, take a wire hanger and attach the clothespins to it.
This makes it easier to paint them on all sides. Allow to dry completely.
The next step is to assemble the clothespins on the wire wreath. Alternate them by pinning one to the top of the wreath and then another to the inside of the wreath. You can mix the individual colors or alternate the colors by section and so on. Any pattern is acceptable as this is YOUR project and your creation.
After all of the clothespins have been assembled on the wreath, you can add your decorations. Attach them using hot glue. I laid them out the way I wanted them to look and then started gluing them down.
Once the glue has dried, your creation is ready to be hung up in your home or on your front door.
