The annual Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC), will engage participants in community science while highlighting the critical connection between native plants, water conservation, and bird habitat. Through guided bird counts at Mitchell Lake Audubon Center, participants will learn how native, water-efficient plants support healthy wetlands, conserve water resources, and provide essential food and shelter for birds. Binoculars will be available to ensure accessibility for all participants.
Those unable to attend in person are encouraged to participate within their own communities, extending conservation awareness and data collection beyond the site.
