Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or a beginner, this in-person event is perfect for anyone looking to enhance their gardening skills. Gardening Essentials includes two presentations on the third Monday of every month. You’ll have the opportunity to learn from expert gardeners and fellow gardening enthusiasts, who will share their knowledge and tips on various gardening techniques. From choosing the right plants for your garden to proper soil preparation and maintenance, we’ll cover all the essentials you need to know to create a thriving garden.
- Session 1: Paul Yura, Warning Coordination Meteorologist for National Weather Service Austin-San Antonio Texas, will introduce the National Weather Service experimental HeatRisk tool which is now available to the public in its first summer testing phase. HeatRisk tool is developed for individuals to identify potential heat risk in the local 7-day forecast.
- Session 2: Representatives from the Conservation Department at San Antonio Water System will announce the changes to drought management implemented this summer.
