Friends of Mission Branch Library and Gardening Volunteers of South Texas present Author Night with Shaun McCoshum, PhD on Monday, August 17, 2026 at Mission Branch Library.

Schedule of events:

4:30 planting demonstration in community garden behind library: native plants edible and useful for both humans and wildlife

5:00 Author books available for purchase:

  • Natural Habitats and Wildlife Gardening: Inviting Nature into Your Backyard
  • Inviting Pollinators and Other Wildlife Into Your Garden
  • Gardening for Wildlife in the arid south west regions: A short introduction

Forms of payment accepted: Venmo, cash.

5:00 – 6:00 p.m. Information about San Antonio Water System landscape and water conservation financial incentive programs for residential customers will be available.

6:00 p.m. Author presentation: Dive into the landscape around you and learn about the resources pollinators, birds, lizards, toads and other wildlife need to be healthy with Shaun McCoshum, author of “Inviting Pollinators and Other Wildlife Into Your Garden”.

Event ends at 7:45 p.m.
