Sun, partial shade. A flowering vine with a long bloom season and triangular to arrow-shaped leaves. The small, tubular flowers resemble miniature snapdragon blossoms (the species name antirrhiniflora means “snapdragon-like flower”).
A butterfly magnet, this slender and twining perennial vine scrambles over boulders and shrubs with grace. While it can withstand dry, sunny conditions, it will do best with some shade in the afternoon, especially in a hanging basket or small trellis.
Very little maintenance needed! Despite its delicate leaves and stems, it is incredibly tough, but it does not like to be transplanted. It grows best in well drained soils; root rot, powdery mildew and rust can occur if soil remains too wet.
