About This Plant

Full sun. Deciduous with narrow leaves resembling willow. Pink tubular flowers appear throughout the warm season. (‘Bubba’ is a purple-flowered variant.) Very drought tolerant; do not overwater, especially in winter. Desert willow has an irregular growth habit and blooms on new wood only; it responds well to pruning.

Origins: Texas and western U.S.

Maintenance

Pruning; training. Avoid overwatering; generally it blooms best after rains, but let it dry out in between.

Extremely drought tolerant tree with summer flowers that range in color from pink to purple.
