About This Plant
Full sun. An evergreen, woody-trunked tree cactus with thick spiny stems and abundant magenta-colored flowers. It makes a strong focal point in a cactus garden.
Tree cholla can be found at nurseries, but is also common as a pass-along plant, as it is very easy to grow. (If cuttings are used, allow them to callous over before re-planting.)
Maintenance
None required, but be prepared for occasional shaping if grown as a tree; it needs excellent drainage and plenty of room. The litter is spiny.
