About This Plant
Sun partial-shade. Switchgrass is a very large, dense, deep-rooted clump grass with tall panicles of flowers starting in late summer. Once one of the dominant tallgrasses of the Blackland prairie and throughout the plains, it is still used for ethanol production. An excellent ornamental for deep soils with moderate moisture and plenty of room. Available from native grass suppliers.
Maintenance
Cut be back to 8″ height in late winter.
