About This Plant
Sun or partial sun. Evergreen, with soft fragrant foliage and a tremendous variety of cultivars. “Pfitzer” is a common shrub form.
In the right setting, ornamental junipers make a nice accent. Many are adapted to cooler, wetter climates, and the stress of hot summer nights and rust disease keeps them from fully naturalizing in south Texas. When in doubt, use them in north- or east-facing locations to protect them from western summer sun.
Maintenance
Anticipate some supplemental summer water.
