About This Plant
Sun. A cool-season annual, blooming in April, with delicate, deeply lobed leaves and pink, white, and blue flowers; watch for the bunny-faced variety. It reseeds freely and grows swiftly in the winter garden providing an explosion of color around Easter. By May it is usually spent.
Invasive, but a classic old-fashioned garden plant. Don’t use it if you’re trying to grow native wildflowers, it can quickly overwhelm them.
Maintenance
Grows very quickly in the winter garden and self-sows freely, so expect some effort to contain it and clean it up after it goes to seed in May.
