About This Plant
Sun; nearly evergreen, with fragrant scale-like leaves. Lavender cotton is mostly grown for its tidy mound of foliage, but bright yellow flowers appear in midsummer.
Plant in well-drained soil. Often used as an edging plant, it is also suitable for mixed shrub borders. It was a standard in medieval knot gardens, where it was combined with boxwoods and herbs to imitate intricate threadwork.
