About This Plant

Sun/shade; a semi-evergreen perennial with velvety leaves and a thick twining habit. Light purple or lavender ruellia flowers appear continuously from May through first frost. It has a trailing or mounding form effective for use as a soft blooming groundcover; it tends to seed out and spread freely. Keep in mind, however, that it may freeze back in winter.

Maintenance

Monthly shearing to refresh foliage and promote blooms. Can be cut to the ground after first freeze.
