In case you didn’t know by now fall is the ideal time to plant in San Antonio. From fall vegetables to succulents to Texas-tough plants that’ll have your garden bursting into bloom come spring, the planting options are plentiful in autumn.

You can learn about most of them — and much more — at Cultivate, Saturday, Sept. 7 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the University of the Incarnate Word Grossman International Conference Center, 847 E. Hildebrand Ave.

Earth-friendly gardening and landscape care are the focus of the expo presented by the Bexar County Master Gardeners and Texas A&M University AgriLife. Ten workshops spread across four sessions will cover everything you need to know to get started on your fall planting. And the best part is this cavalcade of horticultural knowledge costs a paltry $5 per session!

The bonus: WaterSaver Rewards members can earn up to seven points by attending multiple sessions. That means getting up to $150 in coupons to use toward water-saving materials like plants, mulch, compost and the ever-popular rain barrels.
