Liberate your landscape

Celebrate your independence from your sprinkler system — and awesome water savings with WaterSaver Coupons!

The scorching drought continues in our area, but thankfully we have received little pockets of rain. Those moments of thunder and rain are cherished. We must keep in mind that despite the wonderful rain we receive, the drought continues.

Originally from Laredo, I’m no stranger to the blazing heat. When I drive from San Antonio to Laredo, I notice more and more residential houses and public buildings implementing xeriscape — and I get excited seeing how more people are embracing water-saving techniques.

With Diez y Seis de Septiembre approaching (Mexico’s Independence Day), it’s the perfect time to rethink your sprinkler system — and how you can gain independence from it.

Whether you decide to retire your entire system or certain zones, SAWS offers several rebates and coupons to help you with a total landscape makeover, including kicking that irrigation system to the curb.

Through Oct. 15, SAWS residential customers can apply for up to four $100 WaterSaver coupons to replace some of that thirsty lawn with colorful, drought-tolerant plants. Have you thought about transforming part of your landscape into a living area? The Outdoor Living Rebate is perfect for you!

And if retiring your entire irrigation system piques your interest, you’ll definitely want to consider the residential irrigation design rebate.

After scheduling a free irrigation consultation, one of our consultants will do a run-through of your system, make recommendations and offer a rebate. It’s good for one year to give you plenty of time to remove the system and required parts. Bonus: If the removal work and final inspection is scheduled within 90 days of the initial consultation, SAWS will add a 10% bonus to your rebate!

Our Texas weather will continue to be brutal, but we can better prepare our landscapes for the future, be it rainy or dry.

Change can be daunting, but there’s beauty in a drought-hardy landscape. Color and creativity can still exist and once you make the change, you can celebrate!

Sí, se puede — You can do it!
