SAWS Postponing Free Spring Bloom Event

San Antonio Water System is postponing its annual Spring Bloom event.

“We have decided to postpone our annual gardening event, Spring Bloom, to better accommodate the numerous volunteers, gardening partner groups and vendors who are essential to the event’s success. We understand several thousand people look forward to this spring kickoff event that guides residents to conserve water,” said Gavino Ramos, SAWS Vice President of Communications and External Affairs. “In the meantime, residents can take advantage of our WaterSaver coupon programs by visiting GardenStyleSA.com/coupons to transform their lawns into beautiful and drought-resistant landscapes.”

Spring Bloom was scheduled for this Saturday, March 14. It will be rescheduled later in the year.

Mark A. Peterson was a conservation project coordinator for San Antonio Water System before retiring. With over 30 years of experience as an urban forester and arborist, Mark is probably the only person you know who actually prunes trees for fun. When not expounding on the benefits of trees and limited lawns, you're likely to find him hiking San Antonio's wilderness parks or expounding on the virtues of geography and history to his friends.
