SAWS’ new ConnectH2O meters make it easier than ever to monitor your water use and catch potential leaks early.
If you haven’t experienced the convenience of the new ConnectH2O meters yet, you will soon — all residential customers are expected to have theirs installed by the end of 2025.
These electronic meters provide hourly water usage online, rather than a single monthly read. (It provides real time flow on the meter itself.)
You can log on to saws.org/myaccount to pay your bill, update your contact information and view your hourly use. Additionally, SAWS offers the option to view your usage and sign up for notifications.
SAWS will automatically send you notifications if we see that you are experiencing a constant flow of at least 5 gallons per hour for 48 hours on your home’s meter. If you want to be notified sooner, there are several WaterSmart notifications you can select and customize.
High use: Allows you to receive a notification once a multiplier higher than normal seasonal use is reached. (You will be notified when your daily use is 1x to 5x usage greater than your average use.) For customers with relatively low usage, SAWS recommends using a higher threshold multiplier (so that you won’t be receiving a notification every time you do an extra load of laundry or dishes.) For customers with higher usage, we recommend using a lower threshold multiplier.
Bill forecast: Lets you know if use is on track to exceed a set multiplier higher than normal seasonal use for a billing period. Again, you can select a multiplier between 1x and 5x your average use.
Unplanned use: Allows you to set a use threshold, and you will be notified if you exceed it. This is a great feature if you’re going out of town and know for sure no water should be running. You can set a window of time for these notifications to begin and end.
Home water report: A monthly detailed explanation of your home’s recent water use.
