Join Green Spaces Alliance to plant our second tiny forest at SAY Sí! One year after the establishment of our inaugural micro forest at Promesa Academy, we’re planting a second one in the heart of San Antonio’s west side. Based on research by Japanese botanist Akira Miyawaki, tiny forests are compact plantings that mimic regional native forests. These micro forests bring outsized benefits to deforested areas, including:
Rapid growth
Healthier soils
Cooler temperatures
Wildlife habitat
…and much more!
Come out for a fun day of planting, mulching, and watering at San Antonio’s second Miyawaki-style tiny forest.
