Interested in learning how to care for the fruit trees in your garden — or how to start growing your own? Join Green Spaces Alliance at International Community Garden for a workshop covering the basics of fruit tree care and pruning.
You will start with learning the fundamentals of fruit tree care, then walk through which fruit trees thrive best in Texas climates so you can choose the right varieties for your own yard. Participants will observe pruning techniques directly on pomegranate and Mexican olive trees, learning how to shape growth, encourage fruit production, and keep your trees healthy year after year. By the end, you’ll understand exactly what they need for healthy growth and robust production!
The class will wrap up with a raffle for you to take home your own fruit tree and put your new skills to work.
This workshop is perfect for anyone interested in planting fruit trees or learning how to care for ones they already have. All ages are welcome.
