Are you interested in leveling up your water-wise gardening skills but not sure where to start? Join Green Spaces Alliance for a hands-on morning at Phil Hardberger Park Gardens, where you’ll learn how to propagate and maintain the tough, water-wise plants that make South Texas landscapes thrive.
The day will start with a succulent garden clean-up, where you’ll build practical skills in native cactus gardening, sustainable water use, and intentional garden design. Then you’ll walk through how to divide and propagate a tree cholla — and everyone goes home with their own cutting to start their very own succulent garden.
Please wear closed-toe shoes, sturdy pants, and bring water and gloves if you have them! Tools and additional gloves will be provided.
Audience: This workshop is perfect for adult audiences who want to learn how to design and maintain a succulent garden.
Accessibility note: This workshop will be held indoors and outdoors at the Phil Hardberger Park Gardens, which are located near the Voelcker Historic Homestead. The garden is on uneven terrain. Lot parking and restrooms are available.
