As if saving water wasn’t rewarding enough, now you can earn points for increasing your water-saving wisdom — and cash them in for coupons to use on water-saving materials.
The WaterSaver Rewards Program is back and better than before! First, a friendly reminder: if you signed up previously, you don’t need to sign up again.
If you’re new to the program, getting started is simple and free! Sign up online (you must be a SAWS residential water customer and at least 21 years old) and your rewards card will be mailed to you.
After your card arrives, browse the Garden Style San Antonio calendar to find points-eligible WaterSaver Rewards events and programs. Then, simply present your WaterSaver rewards card — or give your cell phone number (it’s actually your rewards number) — to the event organizer to get credit for that activity or event.
Now you can earn multiple coupons in a calendar year. The coupon values correspond to the number of points you earn. All you have to remember is three, five and seven.
- Three points gets you a $30 coupon towards the purchase of a rain barrel from a local participating retailer.
- Five points earns you a $50 coupon towards the purchase of non-rock or rubber mulch from participating retailers.
- And seven points gets you a $70 coupon to be redeemed at participating local retailers for a variety of water conserving materials including: plants, mulch, compost, rain barrels, bird baths and feeders, and other garden supplies. The only items you can’t use the coupon on are pesticides, fertilizer and non-rock or rubber mulch.
All the coupons are electronic. You’ll get an e-mail with a link to your coupon, which you provide during checkout from participating vendors. The store employee will enter their unique password on your phone to validate your coupon. Click on Locations Button in your electronic coupon to find a list of participating vendors.
ALL coupons expire 90 days after they are issued; they will not be reissued. Points expire on Dec. 31 and do not carry over to the next calendar year.
